June 15, 2022: Kelowna, BC—As the world had freshly entered a new millennium, entrepreneur Renee Merrifield was envisioning building a company that operated differently and would be a force of sustainability in the Okanagan and beyond. In order to do that, she started nurturing relationships, building community, and launching her Kelowna-based company, Troika Management Corp, which officially turned 20 years old this week!
While the company has grown exponentially since its humble beginnings 20 years ago, the Troika corporate umbrella is now operating with over 60 employees and 31 companies, across 9 municipalities and four provinces, the focus remains on relationships and building sustainable communities across Western Canada.
“We are exceptionally proud of the high-quality projects we have developed in the past 20 years and pride ourselves on nurturing the relationships we’ve built during this time, as they have always been at the heart of our business,” says Partner, CEO, Merrifield, who is also the MLA for Kelowna-Mission. “Our creative, flexible, and driven team are what make Troika the company that it is today, and it is our team’s commitment to excellence that sustains the strong reputation we’ve built.”
One highly anticipated development that broke ground in March 2022 is Gateway 286, a reimagination of the well-known rest stop outside Merritt, BC, at the intersection of Highways 5 and 97C. Sustainability is key to this project, which is being developed through a partnership between 5 Indigenous Nations, (Spayum Holdings), PR Petroleum, and Troika Management Corp.
“As we celebrate where we’ve come from and what we’ve achieved over the past 20 years, we are also focused on the future and excited about current and upcoming projects, like Gateway 286, as well as those projects we have yet to dream up,” says Partner, CFO, Brad Klassen.
Kelowna and area residents will be familiar with numerous residential and commercial projects completed by Troika through the years, including Yaletown, The Gate, Ambrosi Place, Lakeshore Medical Building, Green Square and Green Square Vert, The Landing, West Harbour, and soon to be Terreno.
