Tom Knoepfel is a senior commercial real estate executive with more than 40 years of experience working with leading institutional investors across Canada. He has held senior management roles with organizations including Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, Ivanhoé Cambridge, and Cadillac Fairview, specializing in property management, leasing, and large-scale portfolio operations across the office and retail sectors. From 2010 to 2021, Tom served as Portfolio Manager for Western Canada at Cadillac Fairview, overseeing an $8 billion portfolio of shopping centres and office properties across Vancouver, Richmond, Calgary, and Winnipeg, and leading teams of more than 600 professionals. He later assumed national responsibility for Cadillac Fairview’s shopping centre portfolio, guiding 18 properties valued at $12 billion through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. A respected industry leader, Tom has served as President of NAIOP Vancouver and BOMA BC and is a frequent speaker at major real estate forums. Since retiring from Cadillac Fairview, he remains active as Managing Broker for Chard Developments, a board member of Hyland Properties, and an advisory board member of Cedar Coast, while supporting community initiatives through his advisory role with Mackie’s Place.
